Its time for Governors to lead

President Trump has done more for Federalism and the Republic form of Government than any President in some time. To understand this one needs a high school civics class, but suffice it to say that Governors in the US have taken a more diminished role in governing since the civil war.


The diminished executive role has been compounded with two additional circumstances: 1) the consistent erosion of State autonomy with the expansion of the federal government’s role beyond its intended scope in the Constitution, and 2) passage of the XVII Amendment.

This President has forced the Governors to step up and lead in their states with the support of the federal agencies and the federal government - not following. Stay at home orders are situational and should be based on the facts and circumstances on the ground. What is happening in NY, LA, CA, and WA is not reflective of WY, ND, SD, and MT. I may not like having a Democratic Gov, but I do like the fact that across the country we are United States which makes up the United States......
